At Orchard we believe homework is a vital part of the curriculum. Homework enables children to further their learning at home and practice or revise key skills to be used in class. Children are required to complete their homework on time, this helps the children work to deadlines and become more prepared for future challenges and expectations.
Home learning is a great opportunity for parents to work with their children, supporting them with all aspects of their homework. At Orchard we believe this is incredibly valuable and feel that the children benefit most when parents support and guide whilst allowing their children to complete tasks themselves.
Parents can find their child’s homework schedule in the curriculum information booklet found on the curriculum detail page on the website.
The school runs a homework club to support children with completing their homework.
Class teachers will support your child with their homework when necessary and may provide a variety of sources of where parents can get help with supporting their child. Please find below some useful websites for helping your child with their homework, this is not an exhaustive list but a selection to help parents assist their child.
