As part of our ‘Roaming the Rainforest’ topic we have started to explore the works of Henri Rousseau. Analysing his work has helped us to recognise patterns in nature and consider how we can use this to inspire our own art work. Visiting the woodlands allowed us to ‘zoom in’ on these patterns and explore different ways of sketching them. To challenge ourselves, we tried drawing without looking at our sketchbook and without lifting our pencils. We also created some bark/leaf rubbings which was great fun, keeping us creatively fit for life!
